Civil Engineering Curriculum
The civil engineering curriculum encompasses courses in basic sciences & mathematics; humanities, arts & social science; and engineering science & design. Specific courses are required in the sub-disciplines of environmental, geotechnical, structural and transportation engineering. Eighteen hours of elective engineering courses are permitted.

The RECOMMENDED PATH shows how one may complete the curriculum for a degree program in 4 years. CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS may be recommended in one semester but must be met by the end of the required semester for one to be considered “on track” and making progress in the degree. Summer school is strongly recommended when a student needs to "catch up" with the curriculum.

Recommended Path for 2006-2007 Catalog Year
The College Of Engineering uses the same general education requirements as listed in the LSU General Catalog. There is one exception in that engineering students must take ECON 2030.
