What is the ASCE?

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is a professional organization with a student chapter at LSU. We strive to familiarize the students with the profession and job opportunities by inviting professors, professional engineers, and organizations to speak at our bi-monthly meetings.

Why join ASCE?

  • Meet with other students in your discipline who share similar interests.
  • Interact with professional engineers
  • Network through parent chapter and recruiters on campus.
  • Participate in national design competitions such as:
    • Concrete Canoe Competition
    • Steel Bridge Competition
  • Place involvement with ASCE on a resume

How can you become a member?

Membership is simple! In order to join the LSU Chapter of ASCE, you should attend an ASCE meeting.

When are meetings held?

Meetings are usually held on Thursday nights at 7:30 in the Germano Center located on the second floor of CEBA.

What goes on at meetings?

At ASCE meetings, the chapter president will discuss upcoming events and activities involving the chapter. Featured speakers or employers will then give a brief presentation or discussion. Following this food and refreshments are served (Free Food!).
