GENERAL INFORMATION

Dr. Steve Cai is an Associate Professor at Louisiana State University. He is serving as the coordinator of Structures Group and director of Bridge Innovative Research and Dynamics of Structures laboratory.

Since he started his academia career in 2000, Dr. Cai have served as Principal Investigator for more than 30 federal, state government, and university funded projects, with a total funding of more than $3.9 millions as PI or co-PI. His research interests include bridge performance evaluation, instrumentation, and testing, applications of advanced materials, steel-concrete and prestressed concrete structures, vibration control/mitigation, long-span bridge aerodynamics, and wind engineering.  Dr. Cai has published over 150 technical papers in journals and conference proceedings in these research areas. He has graduated 6 Ph.D. (5 at LSU) and 3 M.S. students (all at LSU). Talented and self-motivated researchers and students are welcome to join the research group.
