FINANCIAL AID
Amounts of stipends for research and teaching assistants vary from year to year. Assistantships at LSU are competitive with those of other large state universities. All in-state and out-of-state fees are waived from graduate assistants except for a nominal portion of the University fee. Fellowships, some of which cover fees, are also available; they require no duties. Support is provided by the University, the Louisiana Water Resources Research Institute, the Hazardous Waste Research Center, the Hazardous Substances Research Center, the Louisiana Transportation Research Center, the Institute for Recyclable Materials, federal and state agencies, and industry. Loan funds are available. Excellent jobs can be found on campus and in Baton Rouge for students' spouses.
