PARTICIPANTS: To choose the eight students and one professor, we contacted the officers of Chi Epsilon at Virginia Tech. Preference was placed in this order: 1. Students/Professor injured in the shootings. 2. Students/Professor that were in the classrooms where the shootings took place. 3. Students/Professor with the closest ties to the shootings. 4. Chi Epsilon, ASCE, and/or Tau Beta Pi members who fit any of the above descriptions. 5. Students/Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech who fit any of the above descriptions. This tribute is mainly organized by Civil and Environmental Engineering individuals, therefore preference was made towards the Civil and Environmental Engineering students at Virginia Tech who were directly effected by this shooting. That said, this tribute was not limited to Civil and Environmental Engineering students. The intentions were to choose the most deserving students and professor regardless of major; however, with some appropriate preferences. The student and professor have been selected and are excited to come. If you would like to know more about them please email chiepsilon@lsu.edu. We are all glad they can come and intend to give them an immensely enjoyable weekend! |
